This playful funshop invites participants into the beautiful process of creating a wet-felted flower pin using vibrant, colorful wool. We begin by gently layering soft wool fibers, building a flower shape and blending hues to design expressive petals. Warm water and natural soap are then added, and the fibers are covered and carefully worked until they begin to intertwine and transform into a single felted form.
Once the flower has felted, participants shape and refine their petals, softly separating and sculpting them into bloom. Additional color can be layered into the center or along the edges for added depth and dimension. In the next step, a barbed felting needle is introduced for more detailed shaping and subtle texture work.
To finish, delicate glass seed beads are sewn into the center of the flower, and a pin backing is securely attached so the piece can be worn and enjoyed. Those who feel inspired to expand their design may create additional petal layers for a fuller bloom or add softly felted green leaves tucked beneath the flower for a more botanical finish.
